As written in my previous post, we update one of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operation implementation projects to 10.0.1 PU25 on May 16th 2019. After the update the customer decided to skip the next two update because of capacity constraints in the test team. In this post I want to show you, how you can benefit from such a decision because it will lead to more than two months (10 – 11 weeks) available for testing.
If you want to benefit from a longer testing period you have to be part of the PEAP program for which you can sign up here: https://experience.dynamics.com/insider/
In the following illustration you can see the “release/test strategy” for 10.0.4 PU28 when you start with the PEAP version in the week of June 3rd and update production in the week of August 12th. With this approach you have 10 – 11 weeks to validate the most recent monthly release.
Feel free to add any comment on the approach.
